When You Give a School Supply Pack, You’re Opening A Door

It is not right for a child to grow up more familiar with the sight of bullet holes and guns than crayons and notebooks. It is not right for a child to have doors to the future constantly slammed shut.

Most families in La Limonada cannot afford the school supplies needed to begin the new year. Parents face difficult decisions as they choose to buy food or medicine for their children instead of basic school supplies.

When you give a school supply pack, you’re opening the door to another year of education.

You’re setting them up for a successful new school year. You’re placing tangible reminders that someone loves them and believes there is an alternative future – something other than the gang life they see all around them.

This Christmas, we need to cover the cost of 382 school supply packs for the children attending the Limon, Mandarina, and Lima academies. These supply packs include notebooks, pens, pencil, crayons, glue stick, ruler, plastic covers, eraser, pencil sharpener, tape, graph paper, and loose paper for assignments.

With a gift of $10 you can provide school supply packs for one student. With a gift of $50 you can provide school supply packs for five students. With a gift of $250 you can provide school supply packs for 25 students.

By giving school supplies, you are launching children into a joy-filled new school year!
