For those of us who live here in the United States, Thanksgiving is upon us and our hearts and minds are reflecting on all we are thankful for. As we gather around our dining room tables, together with friends and family we will give thanks for our many blessings.
As an organization, we recognize that we are guests who have been welcomed to the table with the people of La Limonada. As our friends from Street Psalms have said, “We are aware of how often we have been guests of hosts who have taken genuine risks to welcome us. For this we are truly thankful.”
If the Thanksgiving holiday is part of your family tradition, we invite you to join with us as we express gratitude to God for being invited into the story of La Limonada. We invite you to pray with us for hope, peace, healing, and abundance for the children and families with whom we are standing in solidarity. We pray for God’s love, peace, and justice for those who are struggling with poverty, hunger, health problems, loneliness, mental illness, addictions of all kinds, deep grief and trauma, and hopelessness.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving with our family and friends, we want you to know how thankful we are for you. Your love, prayers, and generosity are having a tremendous impact in a community that is so near and dear to our hearts. We are grateful that we have the opportunity to be facilitators of your generosity. Please know that our friends in La Limonada are being transformed as you give sacrificially, and as your abundance overflows with love into the lives of vulnerable children, families, gang members, and people who are marginalized.
Thank you for being a part of this global community.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!
