The teachers and staff members who serve in the programs in Guatemala are an amazing group of people who give their lives to invest in the children and families of La Limonada.
Thanks for your generosity! We reached our goal. Please consider a donation to provide 7th-12th graders scholarships through Give Education.
Gladis always knew she wanted to serve others and she saw the beauty the school brought to the community. So she was very excited to start working with the 8-9 year-olds at the Limón School earlier this year.
She and her husband, Willy, have two children, Donovan (6) and Eunice (2), and they are Christian leaders in the part of La Limonada where they live. We're excited that Willy will be making backpacks for the children from the schools as part of our Give Christmas campaign this year.
Their family used to rent a small house that was next to an empty lot filled with trash which attracted cockroaches and mice to their house. They had a dream a couple years ago to buy a different house in La Limonada and use it for small group gathering for their church.
They saved for over two years and were able to buy the house. They are paying small payments each month after paying a downpayment of only 26 dollars (because the woman selling the house knew that they would put it to good use). The house needed some work which they recently completed and they were able to have their first small group meeting there on November 2.
The next thing Gladis and Willy want to do is install windows in a room in their home that are currently covered with cardboard.
With a gift of $100 or more you can help to provide the teachers and staff members like Gladis with a fair wage for the month of December.
