Academies

The Academies are safe havens where children ages 4-15 are taught the way of Jesus and provided with holistic life-skills training. Through the program children from La Limonada are loved, valued, fed, clothed, educated, taught proper hygiene and provided with scholarships to attend formal school. The buildings provide much more than a space for the schools. They serve as community centers and beacons of light in the two barrios where they are located…

Formal Education is vital for the children of La Limonada to escape gang violence, drug addiction, physical and sexual abuse, and the cycle of poverty that grips the community. FAC takes a holistic approach to empower the residents of La Limonada and works with families to build assets, start and expand small businesses, and essentially invest in people’s inherent potential…

Employment in La Limonada is very challenging to come by. In addition to the lack of opportunities, there is a lack of education, particularly in skilled trades. For many people in the community, this is a factor that leads to a cycle of poverty. Through this program the participants receive training in an employable skill and are provided with access to suitable work…
